Enjoy vibrant landscapes and fall foliage, atmospheric walks in cooler, crisp air. October is typically fewer crowds which makes for a more relaxed visit as popular attractions, restaurants and cities in general are less crowded than in summer months.
Highlights:
On this 8-day tour, you'll experience the diversity of the United Kingdom, from the vibrant capital city of London, where our tour begins with afternoon tea at our 4* hotel located near the British Museum.
Then it's on to Oxfordshire for a visit to stunning Blenheim Palace, home to the Duke of Marlborough and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. We'll have time to visit the house and gardens and enjoy a Prix-Fixe 2-course lunch in the Orangery Restaurant before we continue onward through the historical Cotswold's, an area of outstanding beauty, finally settling in the walled city of Chester for 2 nights with its medieval architecture and a chance to explore this lovely city.
We continue onward to the Welsh Coast for a visit to Conwy Castle to explore the town, independent shops and harbour with lunch on our own, before settling back in Chester with leisure time for our own pursuits in the evening.
Next, we set our sights on the Peak District and the spa town of Buxton for a short visit, then onward to explore Chatsworth House, some may know as Pemberley from the 2005 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. We'll have free time to explore the estate and grounds, them indulge in a luxurious 4-course afternoon tea experience in the Cavendish Restaurant. Later in the afternoon, we make our way to the beautiful city of York for 2 nights, famous for its Shambles and medieval architecture.
Enjoy a morning walking tour of York's highlights: Visit York Minster, The Shambles, the City Walls and the beautiful Treasurer's House with a local guide. Enjoy free time for shopping and sightseeing before our included afternoon tea in a historic tearoom. The evening is at leisure for dinner on your own or exploring.
Day six we head north into Yorkshire for a visit to Castle Howard. Pictures cannot prepare you for the magnificence of Castle Howard! A visit in 2026 promises a grand reveal of a once-in-a-generation project transforming the House interiors, including restoring the lost Tapestry drawing Room. The gardens and grounds of Castle Howard include lakes, follies, woodland, temples and statues - all of which bring out the autumn season for you to explore. Overnight in Newcastle on Tyne.
Cross into the Scottish Borders for a visit to Abbotsford House, home of Sir Walter Scott, novelist and poet. Tour the extraordinary home, literary collection, chapel and gardens. Next we visit nearby Melrose Abbey and learn of the connection to Robert the Bruce. Then it's onto Edinburgh for two nights.
Discover Edinburgh with a local guide, the medieval Old Town, the New Town, Edinburgh Castle - one of the oldest fortified places in Europe. Stroll the Royal Mile with independent shops and pubs and see the grounds of Holyrood Palace, the official residence of King Charles III. Enjoy a farewell afternoon tea in a historic venue. Time in the evening for your own pursuits, such as a visit to Greyfriars Bobby or a local Scottish pub or the adventurous might venture to the popular tourist attraction, Mary King's Close, to learn more of this mysterious 17th century spot.
Day 9: After a hearty Scottish breakfast, we say goodbye and depart for home. Transfers included from hotel to airport.*

Go snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, experience the Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail, or have a tropical rainforest nature park adventure. A day trip to Cairns itself is always worth it, with amazing shopping on the Esplanade and scenic walks that will blow you away.
Willis Island, onboard experience - Established in 1921, the weather monitoring station is home to four weather observers and provides a cyclone early warning service for Queensland. This tiny island, located 450 kilometres east of Cairns, is home to fascinating wildlife, as well as a manned Australian Bureau of Meteorology weather monitoring station. While the cruise does not include a stop at Willis Island, you can catch glimpses of its natural beauty from the comfort of the ship. As you sail by, you'll have the opportunity to witness some amazing wildlife that calls this island home, including wedge-tailed shearwaters and sooty terns.
Tangalooma, Moreton Island - Tangalooma Island Resort gives you access to one of Australia’s best-kept secrets. Experience snorkeling the famous shipwrecks or go whale watching for an experience you’ll never forget.
